Second Saturdays: Pollinators in Action!
March 9, 2018 | 11am-2pm | Ameal Moore Nature Center | Free | Family Friendly
Pollinators are animals that move pollen from plant to plant allowing them to reproduce!  Without them, we wouldn’t have most of the fruits, vegetables, and other food products that we love!  Join us this Second Saturdays and learn all about pollinators, their jobs, and our relationships to them.  Special guests from UCR Entomology will be joining us!  This event is free and family friendly!

Citizen Science Initiative
March 16, 2018 | All Day | Ameal Moore Nature Center | Free | Family Friendly
The Ameal Moore Nature Center is a hub for Citizen Science! We love helping citizens understand that they can help contribute to science and regularly help visitors join Citizen Science projects. Sometimes it can be as easy as taking a picture! Starting this year, we’re launching our C.S.I. (Citizen Science Initiative) days. Every 3rd Saturday of the month, we’ll be specifically focusing on a Citizen Science Project and will be teaching visitors how they can get involved! Join us and get your science on!

Weed Warrior Volunteer Day
March 17, 2018 | 9am-12pm | Ameal Moore Nature Center | Free | Family Friendly
Join us for the 3rd annual weeding event!  Come for a day of volunteering and help to fight back the invasive plant, Sahara mustard!  Led by local scientists, we’ll weed out the mustard, which displaces our native plants.  Come ready to work in the sun with a hat, sun screen, work gloves, water, snacks, and sturdy walking shoes.  Activity waivers are required and will be available at the event.  Parents or guardians must sign for participants under 18.  This event is a joint effort between the City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, the University of California Riverside Cooperative Extension, the California Native Plant Society Riverside-San Bernardo Chapter, and the Santa Ana River Orange County Weed Management Area.
