The Riverside Metropolitan Museum and The Ameal Moore Nature Center present: Riverside Metropolitan Cal Naturalist Classes
Are you interested in gaining more knowledge about your local environment or becoming a better informed volunteer? The Ameal Moore Nature Center will be hosting classes that are just for you! Coming this spring, The Riverside Metropolitan Museum will be offering UC California Naturalist classes for anyone interested in gaining more knowledge about our beautiful Sycamore Canyon and greater Riverside area.
The California Naturalist course will immerse you in the wonders of natural history in the Santa Ana River watershed, the Mojave Desert’s edge, and the state as a whole. The 40+ hour course offers presentations and discussions, field trips and project-based learning in the context of science curriculum. It seeks to foster eco-literacy and a committed corps of naturalists and citizen scientists ready to take an active role in conservation, education, and restoration. We hope to inspire you to connect more deeply with the natural world! By the end of the course you will be a certified California Naturalist through the program!
Classes will be taught by instructors affiliated with and in the various fields of ecology, geology, botany, interpretation, and more. Course cost is $350 per student (textbook cost not included).
The March 10-May 19, 2016 course has SOLD OUT! But don’t worry, we’ll have another class in the future! To get on the list, contact Teresa Woodard at (951) 826-5273 or email her at twoodard@riversideca.gov today!
